Ancestral Mountain" Art Exhibition by Yu Chunming

Yu Chunming’s "Ancestral Mountain" exhibition opened on March 30, 2025, featuring over 60 recent works by the acclaimed artist. Yu, a member of the China Artists Association, the American Watercolor Society, and the American Oil Painters Association, is celebrated for blending traditional Chinese techniques with contemporary approaches.

Over 100 art enthusiasts attended the lively opening, including local artists, university faculty, and cultural leaders. Yu Chunming shared insights into his artistic journey, highlighting his lifelong dedication to capturing the spirit of rural and urban China. Born in 1955 in rural China, Yu overcame a challenging upbringing and pursued formal art education at Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. His work documents vanishing cultural landscapes and, more recently, explores innovative approaches to light and color in landscape painting.

The exhibition, created largely during the pandemic, reflects Yu’s dedication to infusing soul and inspiration into every piece. It was generously supported by San Diego philanthropists who champion the arts.
